Across the country there are many thousands of private ponds built for various reasons including fishing, irrigation and livestock watering. When properly managed these ponds represent a valuable resource for both recreation and food production. Participants in this webinar will better understand how to develop a sustainable management strategy for ponds that is based on defined objectives and expectations. We will explore the keys to success including pond construction and renovation, water quality management, fertilization and liming, fish species selection and stocking strategies, harvest guidelines, fish population assessment and aquatic plant management.
