Status and Needs of Yellow Perch Aquaculture in the North Central Region
(52K pdf file)
Description
The yellow perch (Perca flavescens) has been designated as a
high priority species by the North Central Regional Aquaculture
Center (NCRAC) Industry Advisory Council (IAC). The Board
decided that a white paper,
Status and Needs of Yellow Perch Aquaculture in the North
Central Region, should be developed on yellow
perch. The Board directed that the white paper should
clearly outline the current state of yellow perch aquaculture
technology, critical factors limiting economical and
sustainable commercial production, and recommendations for
research and extension that should be considered in future work
plans. The Board further directed that this white paper
be a “living document” that can be updated based on
advancements and new developments within the industry.
