In September,
2003, at the request of the North Central Regional Aquaculture
Center's Industry Advisory Committee, a survey was conducted in
the 12 North Central Region states and 9 surrounding states for
the purpose of obtaining current information regarding
regional:
- State Aquaculture Contacts and
Coordinators
- Fish Health Certification
- Aquaculture Transportation
Requirements
- Aquaculture Best Management Practices
(BMPs)
- Approved Aquatic Species
In 2008, NCRAC’s
Regional Aquaculture Extension Specialist undertook a more
extensive effort to update aquaculture contact information,
importation requirements, fish health certification
requirements, baitfish regulations and
aquaculture facility licensing. As of
September 1, 2008, this process has been completed for the 12
NCR states. Adjacent states will be
completed ASAP. To date, there are no BMPs
for aquaculture reported for individual
states. State-adopted BMPs will be listed
once/if they become available.
